Who is going to win...

Brandon and I are having a competition to see who gets what they want. Before you say, "It's a little too early to be competing don't you think?", just know that I know that and I'm just being optimistic and this is OBVIOUSLY just for fun and games.

I say Sadie Elizabeth is coming next. He says Samuel Thomas.

Should we start a poll and see who wins? Just know that it will probably be next September before the little one makes it's debut.

Mom, can I have a gumball?

Sterling has loved gum since he figured out what it was. He was the first one year old I had ever seen actually chew gum. Seriously, he'd keep it and chew if for hours. When it came time for him to potty train, I got the bright idea of using a gum ball machine to "encourage" his potty training. It worked great. He potty trained in a matter of days. Well, we still have a ton of gum balls left and he must ask me a million times a day if he can have a gum ball. This morning I was giving Seth a haircut and Sterling comes in asking for a gum ball. Instead of just saying no, I said "not right now, I'm giving Seth a haircut." He comes back while I'm giving him a bath to clean him up and I answer him with similar answer. He asked again two minutes later and again while I was trying to dry him off and dress him. At this point I say rather loudly, "LEAVE ME ALONE STERLING." To that he says:

"Then can me have a gum ball?"

18 DAYS!!!

HOLY COW! We decided last week that we are going to pack our selves and drive a Penske truck. The military pays you to move yourself and it was way too much money to pass up. That having been said, I DON'T HAVE THE FIRST BOX!!! It'll work out, but man is it going to be a busy couple of weeks.

On a different note, Brandon has worked more this month than the last three years combined ::slight exaggeration for effect:: Can I tell you how much more that adds to the move? It makes me want to move YESTERDAY. At one point he worked 30 hours straight. They've got him busting his rump until July 15th. The day we're supposed to move. Needless to say, we probably won't be able to drive out until the 16th. Speaking of driving out, anyone have any suggestions about sights along the way from Atlanta to Kansas City?

Apparently I'm old

I'm sitting here minding my own business, ignoring my responsibilities, but we're not talking about that, reading random strangers blogs. Stephen walks in the room and takes a look at a picture of six teenage girls and asks, "Is that you?" I said no, and he says, "Oh. I thought it was you from a long time ago." He then says to me, "Did they have color pictures when you were young?" I start laughing and tell him I'm not that old. He thens says, "Were there tv's when you were born?"

I just had to laugh.

Our trip to Stone Mountain yesterday

Stone Mountain is a state park here in GA. It's a really great place to visit. They have so many attractions and things to do. You can camp or stay in one of there many resorts. It would take a couple of days to fully enjoy all that it offers. The biggest attraction for those of us who live close by is the amazing FREE laser light show that they do every night on the side of the mountain. It's done to music and it's so much fun. We got there mid afternoon and took in a couple of attractions. Then we hung out on the lawn and had dinner while we waited for the show to start. I tried to take a couple of pictures of the show, but most of them didn't turn out well.

This one is of a carving in the side of the mountain. Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Jefferson Davis
These are the sky buckets you can ride to the top of the mountain.

This is Seth having the time of his life during the show. The squiggles of color in the background and on Brandon's face are the lights from the lasers.

Happy 5th Spence!

Spencer is so proud to be five. We had a fun filled day swimming at my brother and sister-in-laws neighborhood pool. We then went to dinner at Spencer's favorite restaurant Stevi B's. I'm not sure if you can see his eye in the picture, but he fell and creamed it on the corner of the end table in the living room. He so could have taken his eye out. Considering the fact that we have five boys and we've only been to the ER once for an accident related injury, I think we're pretty lucky. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPENCER!

Our move is coming up quick

We've known about our move for MONTHS now, but man is it coming up quick. I put a ticker at the bottom of our blog so I can keep track. We close on the house next Thursday. Brandon is going to set up our move through work here in a couple of days. It's all beginning to fall into place. I'm so excited about this move. We all are.

Four out of five kids are sick

And the other one is pretending: "I threw up Sunday night, so I've been sick too." Sterling is in denial. Our conversation:

me- "Sters, I'm sorry you're sick."
Sterling- "I'm not sick."

I haven't taken his temperature, but it's probably 103, at least. He has that stinky smell too. Sebastian says he can't move and everything hurts. Spencer is sort of the same way and Seth has been sick since Monday with nasty croup attacks and a high fever. It's a lot of fun at my house right now. Anyone want to come over for a play date?

Some randon pictures for your enjoyment

This is what Sterling does while he's waiting for us to come wipe his bottom.

Aren't we such a cute family?

Stephen, Sebastian, and Spencer right before they left with my parents for a week.

The next two were taken at the World of Coke. Can I tell you how easy two is after five?

This is our dog Piper. She's a dog...what more can I say? I'm not really a dog lover.

Father and Son Campout

This was last month, but I'm just getting around to posting the pictures. They had a great time.

This is what we think stung Brandon. He ended up with a nasty infection that sent him to Urgent Care. Fun times.
