Congratulations Fuller

Brandon was FINALLY promoted to Staff Sergeant. He's known since January that he was picking up, but had to wait for his number. We are so excited. For numerous reasons, but the most important being the fact that he can now make a career of the Marine Corps if he so chooses. I was able to "pin" on his new rank. It was really neat to be there and be a part of it.

I dropped off a cake at his office to celebrate his promotion. The bakers at Costco were gracious enough to decorate it like I requested. They have a selection of cakes the members can choose from and I assure you this wasn't one of the choices, but it never hurts to ask! Thanks Stacie from Costco!

I'm a Chevrolet Corvette!

You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.

Some much needed down time

This was me before 7:00pm:

This was me after 7:00pm:

Although our church doesn't have a midweek worship service, we are always there one night a week. Because of scouts and presidency meetings, our whole family is in attendance.

But I didn't have a meeting tonight.
The little's didn't take a nap today.
Which means the three of them were in bed by 7:00pm.

I didn't actually take a nice, hot, bubble bath. But it was nice to have the house all to my self while I finished up the dinner dishes, did some laundry, took the dog out, swept the floor, fed the cat, and wait....what happened to my down time??????

Oh well. Maybe next time.

Mom, can the cat come wis us to chuch?

To get the full effect, you really need to click on the pictures so they can open up to full size. He was sitting in the rocking chair while I was getting Seth ready for church. He called my name and I looked over at him and he asked me in a totally serious voice, "Mom, can the cat come wis us to chuch"? He's such a nut.

oh, by the way, I would love to know whose reading up on our lives. Feel free to click on the comment button on the bottom of any post and leave us a Hello!

Lions and Tigers and Bears OH MY!!

Ok, so it's more like clowns and elephants and tigers, either way, it's still a circus.

We were able to go for FREE thanks to the base housing office how gave all the base residents tickets to the show. How sweet was that? It was located down town at the Sprint center. A fun time was had by all. And let me tell, if you've ever been to the circus, but not a Ringling Brothers Barnum and Baily Circus, you've never been to the circus. It was FAR superior to any circus I've ever been to. Just don't buy the popcorn and cotton candy. It'll break the bank. Just ask Brandon.

They have three different tours and our tour was the red tour. The Bellobration tour. It's all centered around one clown whose name is Bello. He is a clown of many talents. I tried to get some good pictures, but everything moved so fast it was hard to get any good shots. Notice the one with the elephant. He has the same hairdoo as Bello. By the way, that is Bello's real hair. Again, I encourage you to go if you get the chance. Well worth it.

Our new pets seem to love each other

....or is it love to hate each other. Here they are "playing."

Brandon, with all his handiness, built a temporary door in the kitchen until Stupid, oh I mean, Charlie learns that the backyard is his toilet and that my beautiful new rug is not. The door has a crack at the bottom and the cat likes to sit on the outside of it just out of reach of Charlie.

I caught them playing today. It was really cute to watch.

The Coolest McDonalds in the midwest...

It's literally a bridge over the highway. We came upon it on our way to Oklahoma. I just had to share it. Sorry it took forever. (I actually just found it in my picture folder and remembered I hadn't posted it)

This is what happens when Beth tells Brandon....

..."Get which ever one you want Honey."

We end up with a GREAT DANE!!!! He's actually a Dane Retriever mix. So he's probably not going to be QUITE as big as a Dane. He's eight weeks old and weighs about 15 pounds. We've named him Charlie. So far, he's proven to be a very smart little guy. He already knows how to sit, and we're crate training him and this is day two without any accidents. Hopefully this pattern continues. We adopted him from a local shelter. He was one of four puppies from the same litter. The first night we had him was the first night away from his brothers. Not only did he cry all the way home from the shelter, but he cried most of the night. That is, until Brandon put him in our bed at 5am. I've gotten up with five babies, I guess it's only fair that he gets to get up with the puppy. After night one, he's only gotten up to use the bathroom and then gone back to sleep. Like I said before, so far, he's proven to be a smart little guy.

This is what happens when Beth goes to the animal shelter....

Harley is a two month old long haired tabby. He is very sweet. Except for when he decides I need a new hairstyle in the middle of the night. He REALLY likes sleeping on my pillow. The kids are absolutely in love with him and Seth carries him around every chance he gets. We were surprised to discover that the kids like the cat better, but I think it's only because Charlie is a little too aggressive and jumps on them and nips at their clothes. His claws are pretty sharp, and that scares them too. As he settles down, I'm sure he'll become the favorite.

I'm glad that Brandon finally has the dog that HE wants. Our other attempts at dog ownership failed miserably. Partly because they were never the dog that he wanted and he was indifferent towards them. It made it very easy for me to boot them when they weren't "perfect." Plus, they were always older dogs who came with baggage. It's hard to not love a puppy. (isn't he cute Kim???? Don't you want to come see him SOON????) I'm not partial to dogs and I already love him. I'm hoping that's a good sign for his future. It looks like he's going to be around for a while.
