Interesting night

So I'm in the kitchen and I hear this noise and and a voice say, "are you OK Sterling?" Then I hear Sterling cry. I continue to sweep the floor and roll my eyes. If I came running every time he cried, I'd get no where fast. Most of the time it's nothing.

Most of the time.

He comes running into the kitchen with his hand on his forehead. Both of which are covered in blood. I dropped the broom and scooped him up and sat him on the counter. When I wiped off the blood I found a very DEEP hole in his forehead, which was pouring blood very fast. (head wounds usually do) It's a good thing I don't pass out at the sight of blood.

Brandon was gone and that left me with no car and a bloody kid that needed some medical attention. So what do you do in a situation like this? Call 911.

So I did. I've only called 911 once before when I thought our house was on fire. Long story and not interesting so I won't bore you with details. Both of these times I hesitated. But when the blood wasn't stopping and the hole was just so deep, I thought, better safe than sorry.

It took them less than five minutes to get here. Talk about fast. The EMT guy said that it looked OK, but if we wanted to go to the hospital we could. He said they'd probably stitch it, but that it would heal OK on it's own too.

It's going to scar, but hey, scars are cool when you're a boy. Right?

He was coming out of his room and Sebastian was going in at the same time. OBVIOUSLY with some force, he KICKED the door in and it caused Sterling to hit the corner of the dresser and spin and hit it again with the other side of his head. Poor guy. I would say he took it like a champ, but he cried like a baby and was very scared of the police and EMT's. I think he would have liked the ride to the hospital though. Oh well, there's always next time.....

Holy Cow girl! That looks so painful. I had to call EMS on Sunday night for Link. He choked on something, and stopped breathing. Talk about panic attack. Thank God for my husband who handled it like a champ. By the time EMS got here, he had swallowed whatever it was and seemed fine, but we took him in for an x-ray to make sure it wasn't something like a coin...which it was not.

Very funny - "always next time." With all those boys, I'll bet there will be.

Hello there Fuller Family, Please forgive my boldness. I am doing a bit of blog surfing to invite people over to my blog to tell them about my giveaway. This isn't a gimmick. It's just my way of celebrating two years of blogging. I am giving away a free caricature drawn by me. I'd be honor if you'd come over and check it out.

OH! Poor baby! He will be such a stud with a scar though! My daughter got a head wound when she was two--it happened in a bar when I was 8-1/2 months preggo with our third (don't ask!) and we were in the city so we had to take the ambulance and the blood ... OMG ... and it was RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES ... The thought of remembering it. I shiver.

Glad your little guy is OK!

Am sending you a note about 40 Weeks. Thanks for finding me, am glad I found you!
